Personal Background
Carol Poulos was born on December 16th, 1964 to a nice American household. She went to the University Of Michigan and graduate with a PhD in epidemiology. She meet my dad Daniel Chapman, where they settled down and had 4 kids. Carol always had an interest in photography all her life. It wasen't till about 10 years ago she decided to start taking photos and editing them. She did simple photos at first, just to see what it was like. Once she found her talent and practice different skills, she got better and took more complicated photos.
Style
close-up, nature
Philosophy
Her biggest reason for her art, is just learning about nature. She doesn't really sell her art or auction them off. She helps out other people when they need photos taken for different events. She tries to make every photo her personal best, and give her own personal touch to it. She use's her knowledge that she has learned through her adventures of photo taking, to really capture the art behind her work. She takes her time to edit and take these photo. She really gives it her own personal touch to each photo.
Influences
The artist has actually influenced me. She has made me want to adventure more into photography and see what I can do. All her photos are pretty cool and hopefully with practice i can one day take those photos. I think its cool when photographers really take their time and show that in the photos. This photographer really does that and it really shows in her art. I admire what she does with her photos. I hope one day I'll take good photos like her.
Compare And Contrast
My personal opinion is that I'm no where close to her skills, but with a little practice I can get there. I did my best to put my own personal touch to it but of course it doesnt look as good as hers. I think there both very nice photos and after a few photo's I came very close.
Personal Artist Statement
I didn't really have a story behind my photos. I did my best to make my photos look like her's. I think I did a good job since I used a Iphone and she used a $1000 camera. I don't know if that means my phone is just as good at my artist camera, or I am not as bad as I think so. Overall I learned that in the future I could have fun with photography and editing.
